Job Opportunity - Commissioner - Australian Law Reform Commission
|
The Australian Government is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for appointment as Commissioners of the ALRC to conduct the national inquiry into justice responses to sexual violence. The inquiry is proposed to commence with the appointment of two part-time Commissioners in October 2023 and run for approximately 12 months. |
Scott Nixon SC and Anthony McGrath SC have been appointed to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, both to sit in the Equity Division.
Formal ceremonies to mark these occasions will be held in Banco Court on level 13, as follows:
- Nixon SC -Tuesday 8 August 2023 at 9.15am
- McGrath SC - Tuesday 15 August 2023 at 9.15am
The ceremonies will also be livestreamed with the link being posted on the Supreme Court website prior to each ceremony.

ACICA Essay Competition - deadline extended
|
The deadline for submissions to the annual essay competition for 2023 has been extended to 14 August 2023. Entries to the competition are invited and encouraged from students based in Australia who are studying a Bachelor, Juris Doctor or Masters level law degree in 2023, and from lawyers based in Australia in their first five years of practice. Information about this year’s competition may be found on the competition flyer and on the ACICA website.
