2024 Bathurst lecture
The Commercial Law Section of the NSW Bar Association will hold the 2024 Bathurst Lecture on Thursday 12 September 2023 from 5.30pm in the Banco Court, Level 13, Law Courts Building, Queens Square, Sydney. The lecture will be delivered by ACCC Commissioner Liza Carver on the topic ‘Modern centrality of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 in the regulation of commercial conduct'. The Bathurst Lecture is named after the Hon T F Bathurst AC KC, former Chief Justice of New South Wales, and is held each year in the Banco Court on a topic of commercial law. This lecture will be held in person. Registration is not required.

John Koowarta Reconciliation Law Scholarship
Applications for the 2025 John Koowarta Scholarship round are now open. The scholarship is designed to enhance the potential and assist an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student to enter the legal profession. It is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in an approved course of study provided by an Australian tertiary institute, which is a prerequisite to admission as a legal practitioner in any Australian jurisdiction.
