Revenue NSW – date of birth verification
Effective from today, 17 June 2024, the Duties verification service will now include a date of birth verification and a new error code ‘E141: Date of birth doesn’t match’. An updated version of the eConveyancing guide will be available from this date and provides instructions that detail the various error codes and steps required to rectify each specific error.

Annual federal courts and tribunals fee increases from 1 July 2024
Increases in federal courts and tribunals fees were published in the Commonwealth Gazette on 12 June 2024. The increases will come into effect on 1 July 2024. The Gazette Notice detailing the increases is available here.

Local Court - Amendments to Practice Note Civ 1
The Local Court of NSW Practice Note Civ 1 was amended on 3 June 2024 with a view to keeping pace with the type of litigation and issues which regularly emerge in the case management and hearing phases of civil matters.

Uniform Civil Procedure (Amendment No 101) Rule 2024
The Uniform Rules Committee has approved the Amendment with a commencement date of 1 July 2024.
The following rules have been created:
- Rule 14.38A – Defence for publications involving digital intermediaries; and
- Rule 15.28A – Particulars in relation to defence for publications involving digital intermediaries.
The amendment is consequential on the amendment of the Defamation Act 2005 that provides a defence for publications involving digital intermediaries. The amendment is available here.
