Specialist Accreditation: Expressions of Interest for Advisory Committee placements
The Specialist Accreditation Program is calling for expressions of interest from practitioners interested in obtaining a place on the 2025 Advisory Committees. Placements are applicable from July 2024 within the areas of Business Law, Commercial Litigation, Criminal Law, Property Law and Wills & Estates. There are also appointments available for the 2024 Planning and Environment Law Advisory Committee, applicable from February 2024. Submit your expressions of interest here.

The Law Society’s Access to Justice Department is seeking expressions of interest from practitioners wishing to be on the 2024–2025 panels. All outgoing panellists (for 2022–2023) must submit a new expression of interest form if they want to be considered for inclusion for this period. The Sydney Lawyers Orchestra Christmas Concert
Sydney Lawyers Orchestra will hold its 8th Annual Christmas concert on Thursday 14 December 2023 at St Stephen’s Uniting Church at 6:30pm. Under the baton of Thomas Jones, the concert will feature works by Beethoven, Mozart, Grieg and Henry Tate, as well as traditional Christmas favourites. All are welcome. Corporate Reconstruction Exemptions: Pre-approvals
Revenue NSW has advised that it is preferable that pre-approval applications are received by mid-December, or as soon as possible, to enable the Corporate Reconstruction team to review and provide a determination on applications before 1 February 2024. More information on the amendments is available in the Treasury and Revenue Legislation Amendment Act guide.

Lodgment of certain caveats
Following the decision in Brose v Slade [2022] NSWSC 1785, the Office of the Registrar General has announced interim arrangements for Subscribers who need to lodge a caveat in the same form espoused in the decision, via a Dealing with Exception (DwE), pursuant to Lodgment Rules exception 1.4.3.
