Applications open for Local Court Magistrate
The Attorney General is seeking applications from persons qualified for appointment as a magistrate under the Local Court Act 2007. A magistrate of the Local Court may from time to time be appointed to serve in the Children’s Court and within the Coronial jurisdiction. Apply here.

  • Segment 1 – Representation of the Department; and

Volunteer registrations are open to take part in the 2023 Mock Trial and Mock Mediation Competitions. Conveyancing (Sale of Land) Regulation 2022 transitional period ending
A reminder that the 6-month transitional period for the Regulation will end on 28 February 2023. From 1 March 2023, sale contracts must comply with the 2022 Regulation, including using the updated prescribed warning notices and cooling off notice (as contained in the 2022 edition of the Contract for Sale and Purchase of Land.) An insert with the revised statutory notices was published last year and is available here

Amendments to Legal Aid NSW Care and Protection policy
The Legal Aid NSW CEO has approved a minor amendment to the care and protection policy to make legal aid available to a representative of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander family or community who has been given leave to be heard under s.87 of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (Care Act) and a consequential amendment to the Means Test.
