Surcharge purchaser duty and surcharge land tax update

Revenue NSW has advised that foreign persons from New Zealand, Finland, Germany and South Africa may no longer be required to pay surcharge purchaser duty or surcharge land tax. Refunds may be available for purchasers/transferees, and landowners, from these nations who paid surcharge purchaser duty or surcharge land tax on or after 1 July 2021. Read more.

Reminder: Expressions of interest to join the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Board close this Thursday
The Board will have important advisory and decision-making functions when voluntary assisted dying becomes available in NSW on 28 November 2023. To learn more about this opportunity and the implementation of voluntary assisted dying in NSW, visit the NSW Health website.
Reminder — CPD year concludes on 31 March 2023
It is a statutory condition of a practising certificate to comply with CPD. Ensure you have maintained accurate records of your CPD activities and complied with your CPD requirements, in accordance with the Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development (Solicitors) Rules 2015. If you cannot comply by 31 March 2023, you may be eligible for additional time to do so or you may apply for an exemption if eligible.
