Changes to the Legal Aid NSW Means Test
The Legal Aid NSW Board has approved changes to the Means Test. The changes include, for example, increasing income deduction for housing and dependants excluding certain assets such as payments received through reparation or recognition schemes. See Policy Bulletin for further details.

Petition to fund Aboriginal Legal Services
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (ATSILS) launched an online petition to Commonwealth Attorney General Mark Dreyfus KC MP for the immediate implementation of emergency funding to prevent the imminent freeze of all services across the country and ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people continue to access to safe legal representation and support. NCAT changes: Attending a hearing by telephone or video
NCAT has returned to in-person (or face-to-face) hearings in most categories of matters. Directions hearings will generally continue to be held “virtually” by telephone or video. If parties or witnesses wish to attend a hearing by telephone or video, they will need to submit their request for permission to attend a hearing by telephone or video as soon as possible before the scheduled hearing date.
