The Law Society of NSW is seeking NSW-based early and/or mid-career lawyers who work in various practice areas and organisations to participate in online focus groups.

World Pride events: save the date

The Law Society will be running two events for LGBTQIA+ members and allies to celebrate World Pride. On 23 February, join us for drinks, canapes and networking in collaboration with Pride in Law. On 3 March, hear renowned gay activist and Former Justice Edwin Cameron from South Africa deliver the Pride Address over breakfast. More info available shortly.

Exchanging Ideas Symposium: Constitutional Reform, Nation Building and Treaty Making Processes

The Judicial Commission, Law Society & Bar Association will host an Exchanging Ideas Symposium on 4 February 2023 at the Powerhouse Ultimo to discuss constitutional reform, treaties & truth-telling. Voluntary Assisted Dying Board
|
The Voluntary Assisted Dying Board will be established by the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act, and include reporting on the operation of the Act, and deciding whether to approve or refuse voluntary assisted dying substance authorisations. It will be supported administratively by Health. The Deputy Chair and Chair the Board are required to be legal practitioners of 7 years standing (or judges). |
