My heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Justice Andrew Bell SC who last week was appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Appointed Lawyer Scheme
The Ethics Committee of the Law Society has written a guideline, available here, for solicitors involved in the Appointed Lawyer Scheme under the ASIO Act.
ECOS will be replaced tomorrow

We’re replacing the Electronic Contracts for Sale (ECOS) with the Digital Contracts Service (DCS) on the 22nd of February 2022. This new system aims to improve and facilitate your experience purchasing and accessing the Contract for the Sale and Purchase of Land and the Contract for the Sale and Purchase of Business. Ceremony for Justice Lucy McCallum
The Hon Justice Lucy McCallum, Judge of Appeal of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, will retire on Monday, 7 March 2022. A farewell ceremony to mark the occasion will be held in Banco Court this Friday, 25 February 2022 at 9.15am. Due to COVID-19, in-person attendance is strictly by invitation only but the ceremony will be live streamed here. Justice McCallum has been appointed as the next Chief Justice of the ACT Supreme Court and will begin her new role in March.

Retirement of the Honorable Geoffrey Flick
The ceremonial sitting to mark the retirement of Geoffrey Flick as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia will be held on Friday 4 March. The ceremonial sitting will be held at 9:30 am in Court 1, Level 21, federal Court of Australia, Law Courts Building, Queens Square, Sydney.
