Hard copy application forms will be posted in early November to those law practices that have not availed themselves of the online facility by then.

Indexation of legal and medical services
Since 1 October 2018, the maximum costs for legal services and maximum fees for medico-legal services will been indexed annually in line with inflation. This is prescribed in Schedule 3 of the Motor Accident Injuries Amendment (Indexation) Regulation 2018. Further information is available on the SIRA website here.

Appointment of Ms Lea Armstrong
Ms Lea Armstrong has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of NSW. A formal ceremony to mark this occasion will be held in Banco Court, on level 13 at 9.15am on Wednesday 13 October. The ceremony will be notified in the Law list on Monday 29 October. The ceremony will be followed by morning tea in the Judges’ Dining Room on Level 13.

Professional notice
On 18 January 2018 pursuant to section 77 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) the Council of the Law Society of NSW ( Council) resolved to:
- a) immediately suspend the practising certificate of Zali Burrows; and
- b) appoint Richard Stephen Savage, solicitor, as Manager of the law practice known as Zali Burrows,
(together, the Resolutions).
By order of the Supreme Court of NSW dated 30 January 2018, the Resolutions were stayed. On 31 January 2018 the Council resolved to lift the suspension of Ms Burrows’ practising certificate and terminate the appointment of Mr Savage as Manager of the law practice known as Zali Burrows.
