This award celebrates the great tradition of pro bono service within the legal profession.

The award recognises an individual or legal team that truly goes above and beyond in terms of the delivery of pro bono legal services to the most vulnerable in our community. The award celebrates both volume and effectiveness of pro bono, as well as creating and championing a culture of service within the profession.

Assessment Criteria

  • How does the nominee demonstrate excellence in pro bono work, going above and beyond to provide access to legal services, a high level of client service and demonstrated client outcomes. (50 per cent)
  • How does the nominee foster an innovative culture of pro bono within your firm or organisation and set an example for others. (25 per cent)
  • How does the nominee demonstrate leadership in the field of pro bono, fostering a collaborative environment, encouraging open dialogue, and uniting diverse community perspectives to achieve common goals. (25 per cent)

Eligibility

Nominations for this award are open to individuals and teams who:

  • are members of The Law Society of NSW, or an organisation or team with a membership rate of 80% or above; and
  • hold current NSW practising certificate/s; and
  • demonstrably work in the pro bono legal space

Judging Panel

This award will be judged by the Law Society of NSW Access To Justice team.
