Personal Information Collection Notice for Applicants

By making this application you are providing personal information to the Law Society of New South Wales (the Law Society) ACN 000 000 699 ABN 98 696 304 966 (we, us, or our). 

The Law Society collects the personal information you have provided and any other personal information it needs to consider your application. As part of that consideration process, your personal information may be shared with or obtained from third parties such as any agency through which you have applied, any referee or any organisation for the purposes of a police check, background check or psychometric assessment. We may also obtain information from a publicly available record. 

If you choose not to provide your personal information to us, we may not be able to process your application. 

Our privacy policy contains information about how you may access your personal information and seek correction of such information, as well as how to complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles and how we will deal with such a complaint.  Please be aware that if you become an employee of or are otherwise engaged by the Law Society, your right to access your personal information will be subject to the applicable Law Society policies and applicable laws.
