Circular 2019/1 from the Office of the Registrar General Consultation on the Conveyancing Rules Version 5 contains important information about the draft Conveyancing Rules and the next stages in the mandating of electronic lodgment on 1 July 2019 and 1 July 2020. Mainstream conveyancing documents, transmission applications and withdrawals of caveat must be lodged electronically from 1 July 2019.

NSW Law Reform Commission Survey for lawyers - access to digital assets upon death or incapacity
The NSW Law Reform Commission is seeking the views of lawyers who provide advice on estate planning and administration, and/or guardianship and power of attorney arrangements. The Commission wants to hear about how lawyers advise clients on managing their digital records and digital assets after they die or become incapacitated. Legal visitor announcement - Change of operator at Parklea Correctional Centre
On 31 March 2019, MTC-Broadspectrum will be the new operator of the Parklea Correctional Centre (the Centre) on behalf of Corrective Services NSW. GEO will no longer operate this Centre. MTC-Broadspectrum does not plan on making any significant changes to the current procedures for legal and professional visits. The intention is for MTC-Broadspectrum to complete a review of visits within the first 60 days after 31 March 2019. READ MORE
