Law Society Council Election – Reminder
|
On Tuesday 27 September an Invitation to Vote in the 2022 Law Society Council election was sent by email to Solicitor Members who had provided email addresses for communication purposes. The Invitation to Vote contains a unique voting link, which is personal to the recipient and must not be shared with, or forwarded to, anyone else. Members are encouraged to consider voting online to ensure your vote is received on a timely basis.
Printed voting papers have also been sent to Solicitor Members by post/DX. If you are intending to return your completed ballot paper by post/DX, please respond at your earliest convenience to ensure it is received at the Society prior to the close of the ballot at 2.00pm on Monday 24 October 2022. Enquiries should be directed to secretary@lawsociety.com.au. |

Ending of COVID-19 protocols: Operation of registrar lists

The Chief Justice announced that the Court’s current COVID-19 protocols would cease to operate from 1 October 2022. The following information is provided to assist practitioners in navigating requirements when appearing in registrar lists. From 17 October 2022 all directions hearings, call overs, mentions, special fixtures, examinations and mediations before a registrar will be held in-person. Learn more. |

Special sitting arrangements during the Local Court fixed vacation period 2022-2023

Normal rostered sittings of the Local Court, Children’s Court and Coronial Jurisdiction will be suspended on and from Monday 26 December 2022 and will recommence on Monday 9 January 2023. To learn more about the court arrangements click here. |
