PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
State Election platform

On Friday last week, I launched the Law Society’s Election Platform for the NSW poll on 25 March 2023. I want to thank each and every member of our policy committees who worked on putting together this comprehensive package of ideas for whomever forms government after polling day. 

As I say in my opinion piece which accompanied the launch, the Law Society of NSW (Law Society) stands ready to assist government with careful and considered input into the complex policy questions confronting our society. Specialist Accreditation | Expressions of Interest for Board and Advisory Committee placements
The Specialist Accreditation Program is calling for expressions of interest from practitioners interested in sitting on the Specialist Accreditation Board, or the 2024 Advisory Committees.
Board placements are applicable from April 2023, and Advisory Committee placements are applicable from July 2023 within the areas of Personal Injury, Family Law, Employment & Industrial Law, Planning & Environment Law, Immigration Law, Dispute Resolution and Public Law. Submit your expressions of interest​​.
Law Society holiday closure
The Law Society of New South Wales will be closed from from close of business Friday 23 December 2022 through to Friday 6 January 2023. During this period, the Law Society will operate with a skeleton staff who will service specific licensing functions. The Law Society’s Phillip Street building and most services to the profession and public, however, will be closed.

All Library services and access to the Visiting Solicitor Rooms will conclude for the year at 12pm on Friday 23 December 2022 and return at 9am on Monday 9 January 2023. Where possible, please submit all library requests for assistance to library@lawsociety.com.au by 4pm on Friday 16 December 2022.
