Connecting the community
with the profession
Finding the right legal advisor to help with your particular problem can seem daunting. We are here to help. While we can’t offer you legal advice, we do have some handy information about what lawyers do and how they can help you, and we can help connect you to a solicitor.
If you need legal help and are looking for a law firm, the Law Society of NSW Solicitor Referral Service (SRS) can provide personalised assistance. Click here to find out more.
You may be eligible for Legal Aid. Legal Aid NSW provides legal services to disadvantaged clients across NSW in most areas of criminal, family and civil law. They can also assist people experiencing domestic and family violence. Click here to visit the Legal Aid website.

What is mediation?
Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) assists people wanting to resolve a dispute outside of a court room.
Our programs include our popular Family Law Settlement Service, which will help avoid lengthy court delays.
Pro bono assistance
The Law Society can put you in touch with law firms willing to provide legal services for free, or for reduced fees. This assistance can include legal advice, help with preparing documentation, and representation in court.
Community Legal Centres (CLCs)
CLCs are independent, community based organisations that provide legal advice and assistance. Visit the Community Legal Centre's website to find a CLC near you.

Use the three tabs below to search the online directory of NSW practices and solicitors who hold a current practising certificate.
The type of practising certificate held by the solicitor does not necessarily reflect the position the solicitor occupies at the principal place of practice or other associated practice. Information regarding the status of a solicitor within a law practice should be obtained directly from the practice.
The directory also includes details of specialists accredited in NSW (who may be from other Australian states and territories as well as NSW), and may include interstate legal practitioners who have an office in NSW.
