LawID
FAQ
LawID will provide the following benefits for the legal industry:
- Simple, easy to set up service enabling single sign-on.
- Fast access to the Law Society services in one place.
- Eliminate the use of multiple usernames and passwords.
- Safe and secure way to access key content and resources.
You can access LawID by heading directly to https://www.LawID.com.au, alternatively you can select ‘Login’ on any of the digital services that are currently integrated with LawID.
- Members of The Law Society of New South Wales should have, or will soon receive, an email inviting them to register. If you are unsure if you have received this email or need to resend this please visit www.lawid.com.au/migration/sendinvitation
- If you do not currently hold a Practising Certificate or Membership with the Law Society of New South Wales, you can still register an account with the LawID by visiting https://www.LawID.com.au

a. Your LawID number will be provided to you upon a successful registration to LawID.
b. Your LawID number has one letter and seven numbers, for example: L1234567
You can sign in to LawID with:
- Your LawID number, OR
- Your email address used to create your LawID account
Note: each LawID account must use a unique email address.
If you have forgotten your password, follow the instructions in the Forgot your details? page.
Your LawID password must be between 8-16 characters long and must contain at least three (3) of the following criteria:
- Lowercase characters (a-z)
- Uppercase characters (A-Z)
- Numbers (0-9)
- Symbols (@#$%^&*-+=[]{}|\:',?/`~"();.)
a. You can manage your profile when you are logged in to your LawID account.
b. You can manage the following:
- Password
- Email address
- Mobile number
- Secret questions and answers
- Email Preferences
- Areas of Interest

- The Law Society Shop
- LSJ Online
- Young Lawyers Registration
- Practising Certificate and Membership renewal
- LawInform
- Professional Standards Scheme
- Digital Contracts Service (DCS)
- Specialist Accreditation
- Committee Member
- Annual Trust Compliance Submission (ATCS)
a. You can only sign out of LawID via your LawID dashboard.
b. If you sign out of LawID, you will automatically be signed out of any services linked to your LawID account.
