2019: A focus on the technology and innovation transforming the legal profession

Providing our members with the resources and support to adapt to the technology and innovation that is transforming the legal profession has been a major priority for the Law Society this year. Guided by the recommendations outlined in the Law Society’s ground-breaking Future of Law and Innovation in the Profession (FLIP) Report of 2017, we have rolled out a record number of FLIP initiatives in 2019, including our regional roadshows, the FLIP conference, hackathon, CPD seminars on cybersecurity, the bimonthly “Behind the Buzzwords” series and our FLIPstream research collaboration with UNSW. Continue reading >

Holiday closure  Law Society Library and Shop
The Library and Shop will close at 12pm on Tuesday 24 December 2019 and will reopen at 8am on Monday 6 January 2020. Monday Briefs will resume on 13 January 2020.
Dispute Resolution Service closedown over holiday period
SIRA’s Dispute Resolution Service will be affected during the NSW Government’s closedown period between 23 December 2019 to 3 January 2020 inclusive. Further information is available here.
