NSW COVID-19 statistics
NSW recorded 372 locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night from 86,235 tests. Sadly, one death was recorded in that same time period. Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones. To 11.59pm on Tuesday 19 October 2021 across NSW, 92.5 per cent of people aged 16 and over had received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 82.3 per cent were fully vaccinated. Notice to all users of Parramatta Local Court
After consultation with the Court's relevant stakeholders, Magistrate Feather has prepared the attached notice to all court users of Parramatta Local Court regarding resumption of in person hearings at Parramatta Local Court from 1st November 2021. Read the notice here.
Personal Injury Commission update
The Personal Injury Commission has released an update that focuses on the recommencement of in-person medical examinations from 25 October 2021 and the vaccination and testing requirements for those attending them. The Commission’s panel of Medical Assessors is looking forward to conducting assessments in-person again and the Commission is very keen to arrange them so that matters which have been held up due to pandemic-related restrictions can begin moving towards outcomes. Non-urgent elective surgery to resume across Greater Sydney next week
Non-urgent elective surgery will recommence at public and private facilities within Greater Sydney, including the Nepean Blue Mountains region, from Monday 25 October. NSW Health Deputy Secretary Wayne Jones said in a statement that the safe recommencement of non-urgent elective surgery is now possible after a temporary postponement to support the NSW health system's response to the recent Delta outbreak. NSW COVID-19 Economy Recovery Strategy
The NSW Government has published a strategy for the state to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes a job creation target of 260,000 jobs by the 2022 December quarter. The Strategy can be read here.
Apply for fresh Dine & Discover vouchers
The NSW Government has expanded Dine & Discover NSW to encourage the community to get out and about and support dining, arts, and recreation businesses. The Dine & Discover NSW Voucher scheme will be expanded to 6 x $25 vouchers. The additional 2 vouchers are expected to be available in December. Existing customers will not need to reapply to receive the additional vouchers. More here.
