Anti-Slavery Australia
Anti-Slavery Australia is seeking motivated law students with a passion for human rights and access to justice, to complete their PLT Practical Experience (PE) Placement with the legal practice.
Anti-Slavery Australia is based in the University of Technology Sydney’s Faculty of Law, and is dedicated to eliminating modern slavery in Australia. The Centre supports survivors of trafficking, slavery, forced labour and forced marriage through our specialist pro-bono legal practice.
Please note a commitment to volunteering for at least 2 days per week for a minimum of 5 months is
required. Students who are soon to commence their Practical Experience can also apply.

Legal Aid NSW
Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising a Central Sydney office and 28 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW including two satellite offices located at Walgett and Bourke. It was established under the Legal Aid Commission Act 1979 as an independent authority to assist economically and socially disadvantaged people to understand and protect their rights in the legal system. People with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women and children, Indigenous people and people with mental illness are some groups who may experience difficulties when enforcing and defending their rights. Working in partnership with private lawyers, Legal Aid NSW provides legal advice, information and minor assistance and legal representation to eligible people in many areas of law.
Our current PLT placement is available within the Crime Team of our Dubbo Office. Individuals can expect to attend court with our solicitors - Childrens, Local and District Courts. Court attendance will predominately be in Dubbo, but with scope to attend at circuit courts as required. Individuals will assist our team with the local court list day, file preparation and management, drafting legal correspondence, preparing briefs, and scope to appear in non-contentious mentions at court.
