As a designated local regulatory authority under the Legal Profession Uniform Law the Council of the Law Society NSW seeks to further objectives of the Uniform Law to promote the administration of justice and an efficient and effective Australian legal profession.
Complaints process
The Law Society of NSW strives to ensure that solicitors across the state are able to deliver services to the public that are of the highest professional and ethical standard.

Policy - Complaints by solicitors about solicitors
Around 15% of complaints made each year are made by one solicitor about another solicitor.
Disqualified lay associates

Unqualified practitioners
The practice of law in NSW by unqualified entities is prohibited by s 10 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW).

Professional Conduct Advisory Panel
The PCAP provides support to solicitors who are or may be subject to disciplinary proceedings including complaints, show cause events and trust accounting issues. The assistance is confidential and independent of the regulatory authorities.
