This award recognises a sole or small firm practitioner, who has performed above and beyond their usual role.
It recognises excellence in practice, as well as innovation, ethical conduct and the unique role that sole or small firm practitioners play in the broader community.

Assessment Criteria
- How does the nominee demonstrate excellence in practice, going above and beyond their usual responsibilities to provide access to justice and high level of client service. (50 per cent)
- In what way does the nominee actively demonstrate innovation and ethical conduct in their role, and how has this has positively impacted the community. (25 per cent)
- How does the nominee set an example of what an exceptional sole or small firm practitioner looks like, including their personal impact on the community, improving access to justice, and commitment to service. (25 per cent)
Eligibility
Nominations for this award are open to individuals who:
- NSW solicitor practicing law as a sole practitioner or in a firm with fewer than four principals; and
- hold a current NSW practising certificate; and
- are members of The Law Society of NSW
Judging Panel
This award will be judged by selected Councillors from The Law Society of NSW.
