Workplace Gender Equality Reports

On 06 December 2012, the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (EOWW Act) was replaced by the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (Act).

The Act introduced a new reporting and compliance framework. The changes are being phased in over two years to allow relevant employers time to transition to the new reporting framework.

All non-public sector employers with 100 or more employees continue to be required to report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency and relevant employers must also comply with the new notification and access requirements which came into effect from the 2012-2013 reporting period. The new notification requirement obligates employers to inform its employees and members that it has lodged its report with the Agency and advise how the report may be accessed.
