The Program

The NSW Young Lawyers Mentoring Program unites newly admitted lawyers seeking guidance and support with a more experienced practitioner who is willing to volunteer their time to assist those just starting out in the profession.

To ensure mentors and mentees forge mutually beneficial relationships, the Mentoring Program offers several unique characteristics:

Compatibility - be paired with someone who suits your personality, interests or practice area.

Confidentiality - all discussions between mentors and mentees remain strictly private to ensure trust, honesty and openness.

Impartiality - talk to a lawyer outside your immediate work environment.

Empathy - learn from a lawyer who understands what you’re going through.

Flexibility - choose how and when to interact and what you will discuss.

Support - mentoring information session and handbook.

NSW Young Lawyers has partnered with Art of Mentoring to deliver best practice mentoring techniques and support to all mentees and mentors in the program.
