Topic: Contracts for Off the Plan Developments – Legislation, Industry Trends and Practical Issues

Luke is the principal of Sessions Legal and an experienced property and commercial lawyer. He established Sessions Legal in 2013 after working for more than 10 years as an employed solicitor in Newcastle based local and national law firms as well as for a state government owned corporation.

Valentina O’Regan – Consulting Principal, Nexus Law Group
Topic: Construction Law Update – Latest Issues and Cases

Valentina is a senior construction and dispute lawyer in Sydney with significant private practice, in-house and government advisory experience and a guest lecturer at UTS on Building and Construction Law. She holds a Master in Construction Law (attended Cambridge University on exchange for part). Valentina’s experience includes both front-end corporate and commercial advisory and dispute resolution. Valentina joined Nexus after being the sole, Senior Construction and Projects Lawyer for the $1.2 billion campus master plan for four years at the University of Technology Sydney’s (UTS).

Allison Benson – Kerin Benson Lawyers
Topic: : NSW Strata Reforms in practice & how they affect your clients

Allison has been strongly involved with strata law since 2008, providing general strata advice, acting in a wide variety of strata disputes (including building defect disputes), and working with clients in preparing and enforcing by-laws. Since 2012 Allison has concentrated on advising and acting predominantly on behalf of owners corporations, community associations and lot owners in both strata and community association disputes and building and construction disputes. She has a strong interest in mediation as well as extensive experience in commercial litigation, having represented clients in contractual claims, interpretation of by-laws and rules, Home Building Act claims and levy recovery claims ranging from claims in the former CTTT, NCAT and through to the NSW Court of Appeal.
