How to apply

Applications to undergo accreditation in 2016 are now closed.

2017 applications will open early next year.

Please follow the steps below to apply:

Step 1

Please ensure that you read the following documents before applying for Specialist Accreditation:

2016 Guide to Application and Assessment (with application form annexed)

2016 Assessment Requirements for your area of law

Step 2

Complete the application form ensuring that you have provided all the relevant information and supporting documentation.

Step 3

Submit your completed application form with payment, no later than 11 April 2016 using one of the below options:

Option 1 - by email

Scan and send your completed application form with the relevant supporting documentation via email to 2016application@lawsociety.com.au

Option 2 - by courier or post

Print your completed application form with relevant supporting documentation and post to:

Q&A webinar sessions

If you have applied or are considering applying for accreditation you should think about participating in the Q&A webinar session for your area of law.

These sessions will provide you with the opportunity to interact with advisory committee members and the Specialist Accreditation team. You will also have the chance to raise any questions you may have.

Sessions will also look at core knowledge and skills areas, methods of assessment and administrative procedures.

2017 Q&A webinar dates will be announced in early 2017 with registrations available online.

Advance Standing

Practitioners who have completed recent and significant study in their chosen area of law may be eligible to apply for Advanced Standing. Please refer to the 2016 Guide to Application and Assessment for further details.

Please note that the granting of Advance Standing is based on an assessment of the practitioners study and results in a waiver of the requirement to successfully complete the written examination component assessment ONLY.
